There is growing evidence that low levels of circulating Vitamin D may contribute to the development of a wide range of chronic diseases and depression.

Known as the sunshine vitamin, vitamin D is produced by the body in response to skin being exposed to sunlight. It is also occurs naturally in a few foods including some fish, fish liver oils, and egg yolks and in fortified dairy and grain products.

Vitamin D is essential for strong bones, because it helps the body use calcium from the diet. Symptoms of joint pain and muscle weakness as well as low mood and depression can mean you have a vitamin D deficiency. Research suggests that vitamin D could play a role in the treatment of a number of different conditions, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, glucose intolerance, and multiple sclerosis.

Please note this test is unsuitable for under 18 year old's. This finger prick blood test is carried out during your 15 minute appointment in the clinic then sent to the laboratory for detailed analysis and your report is emailed to you within 15 days. We use ELISA based technology to determine levels of 25-Hydroxyvitamin D . Blood tests will show if your Vitamin D levels are 1. deficient 2. insufficient 3. optimal or 4. excessive, which in turn will allow you to change your diet or supplement as appropriate. Should you wish to have your test done at an alternative time then this can be done for £75. If you wish to discuss your results after your test please arrange for a follow up consultation.

This 6 week course has been designed to support those who are grieving after a bereavement. It is suitable for anyone aged 18 or over who has lost a loved one and would appreciate support and counselling. We are running this course as a support group led by Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Zoe Barnes and Nutrition & Wellness Coach Amie Richmond.

If you are struggling to come to terms with loss and grief is making it difficult for you to enjoy life, whether at home, in your relationships or at work, counselling may help. There is no time limit on grief. This group is suitable for those who are recently bereaved as well as those who lost loved ones many years ago.

You will be encouraged to share your feelings with the group and following the 50 minute therapy session you will be given notes to take home to prepare for the following week's discussion. Talking within a non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment may help you make the changes you are looking for.

Using communication skills, we explore how grief is unique to the individual using various therapeutic models and discuss as a group how each member is feeling. Each week will have a different topic, areas you want to change, explore why these areas are an issue and understand how you came to feel the way you do.

We believe that if you have been bereaved you may find it helpful to speak and listen to others who are in a similar situation. There are various therapy techniques that Zoe & Amie will use to help with not only the emotional pain of bereavement but also the physical issues you may be facing with sleeping patterns, bodily functions, energy levels, foods and addictions. We will use a range of techniques to help you bring about positive and effective change.

Please note groups are limited to 12 and all members will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to respect the privacy of the other members. The group sessions start Wednesday September 19th and continue each week till Wednesday October 24th - members are encourage to attend every session and new members wishing to join after 19th September will have to wait for the next group to start. FOOD INTOLERANCE is much more common than food allergy and is not caused by the immune system. The onset of symptoms is usually slower and may be delayed by many hours after eating the offending food. The symptoms may also last for several hours, even into the next day and sometimes longer.

With food intolerance, some people can tolerate a reasonable amount of the food, but if they eat too much (or too often) they get symptoms because their body cannot tolerate unlimited amounts.

The symptoms caused by food intolerance are varied. They usually cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and irritable bowel as well as skin rashes, weight gain, fatigue, joint pains, dark circles under the eyes, night sweats and other chronic conditions & illnesses.

Appointments can be made in the clinic for a food intolerance test for £85 at any time, but this open evening offers special pricing of just £75 for the same test.
