FOOD INTOLERANCE is much more common than food allergy and is not caused by the immune system. The onset of symptoms is usually slower and may be delayed by many hours after eating the offending food. The symptoms may also last for several hours, even into the next day and sometimes longer.

With food intolerance, some people can tolerate a reasonable amount of the food, but if they eat too much (or too often) they get symptoms because their body cannot tolerate unlimited amounts.

The symptoms caused by food intolerance are varied. They usually cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and irritable bowel as well as skin rashes, weight gain, fatigue, joint pains, dark circles under the eyes, night sweats and other chronic conditions & illnesses.

Appointments can be made in the clinic for a food intolerance test for £85 at any time, but this open evening offers special pricing of just £75 for the same test. Book your time slot below to have your bloods taken and tested against the most common 46 different foods, looking for food intolerances. Each appointment is up to 10 minutes long and your blood will be taken using a finger prick test by Nutritionist Amie Richmond from Body Fabulous. Results can be collected in one hour or will be emailed to you the same day.

Results will show if you have a strong, moderate or mild intolerance to any of the following foods;

Corn, Durum Wheat, Gluten, Oats, Rice, Rye, Wheat.

Almond, Brazil Nut, Cashew, Cocoa Bean, Peanut, Legume Mix (pea, lentil, haricot), Soya Bean, Walnut.

Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Pork.

6 Week Grief Support Group


Title: Your Mind Behind - Your Grief

Date: Wednesday 19th September - weekly till - Wednesday 24th October 2018, 12-12.50pm
Course Price: £180 for 6 week course - age 18+

This 6 week course has been designed to support those who are grieving after a bereavement. It is suitable for anyone aged 18 or over who has lost a loved one and would appreciate support and counselling. We are running this course as a support group led by Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Zoe Barnes and Nutrition & Wellness Coach Amie Richmond.

If you are struggling to come to terms with loss and grief is making it difficult for you to enjoy life, whether at home, in your relationships or at work, counselling may help. There is no time limit on grief. This group is suitable for those who are recently bereaved as well as those who lost loved ones many years ago. 

You will be encouraged to share your feelings with the group and following the 50 minute therapy session you will be given notes to take home to prepare for the following week's discussion. Talking within a non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment may help you make the changes you are looking for.

Using communication skills, we explore how grief is unique to the individual using various therapeutic models and discuss as a group how each member is feeling. Each week will have a different topic, areas you want to change, explore why these areas are an issue and understand how you came to feel the way you do. 

We believe that if you have been bereaved you may find it helpful to speak and listen to others who are in a similar situation. There are various therapy techniques that Zoe & Amie will use to help with not only the emotional pain of bereavement but also the physical issues you may be facing with sleeping patterns, bodily functions, energy levels, foods and addictions. We will use a range of techniques to help you bring about positive and effective change.

Please note groups are limited to 12 and all members will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to respect the privacy of the other members. The group sessions start Wednesday September 19th and continue each week till Wednesday October 24th - members are encourage to attend every session and new members wishing to join after 19th September will have to wait for the next group to start.
