FOOD INTOLERANCE is much more common than food allergy and is not caused by the immune system. The onset of symptoms is usually slower and may be delayed by many hours after eating the offending food. The symptoms may also last for several hours, even into the next day and sometimes longer.
With food intolerance, some people can tolerate a reasonable amount of the food, but if they eat too much (or too often) they get symptoms because their body cannot tolerate unlimited amounts.
The symptoms caused by food intolerance are varied. They usually cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and irritable bowel as well as skin rashes, weight gain, fatigue, joint pains, dark circles under the eyes, night sweats and other chronic conditions & illnesses.
This is an open afternoon is part of the World Health Heroes Wellbeing Retreat Day at Godolphin school where you can come along and meet a host of wellness professionals from the Salisbury area. The day is open from 1pm-5.30pm and Amie Richmond from Body Fabulous will be doing a 30 minute talk on 'Fighting Fatigue' at 1.15pm - tickets are £3.50 further details here
As an optional extra you can have your bloods taken and tested against the most common 46 different foods, looking for food intolerances. Each appointment is up to 10 minutes long and your blood will be taken using a finger prick test by Nutritionist Amie Richmond from Body Fabulous. Results will be emailed to you the same day.
Results will show if you have a strong, moderate or mild intolerance to any of the following foods;
Corn, Durum Wheat, Gluten, Oats, Rice, Rye, Wheat.

Almond, Brazil Nut, Cashew, Cocoa Bean, Peanut, Legume Mix (pea, lentil, haricot), Soya Bean, Walnut.
Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Pork.
Freshwater Fish Mix (salmon, trout), Shellfish Mix (shrimp, prawn, crab, lobster, mussel), Tuna, White Fish Mix (haddock, cod, plaice)
Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Celery, Cucumber, Leek, Peppers (red, green, yellow), Potato.
