GI360 Complete Stool Test — Comprehensive Microbiome, Parasite and Gut Health Analysis
The GI360 Complete is one of the most advanced gut health tests available in the UK. It combines multiplex PCR, gold-standard parasite microscopy, bacterial and yeast culture, and a full panel of digestive and inflammation markers into a single stool test. Unlike a standard NHS stool sample - which typically covers a narrow set of pathogens or a single inflammation marker - this comprehensive microbiome stool analysis profiles over 45 bacterial analytes across six phyla, screens for parasites, worms, Candida and pathogenic bacteria, and measures key biomarkers of intestinal inflammation including calprotectin and lactoferrin.
Persistent bloating, IBS symptoms, and ongoing digestive discomfort are the most common starting points, but the GI360 is equally valuable when gut dysfunction is suspected behind food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, chronic fatigue, or low-grade inflammation that has not shown up on routine blood work. Skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, joint pain, autoimmune symptoms, and histamine-related reactivity have all been linked to intestinal dysbiosis and impaired gut barrier function, making a detailed microbiome and parasite test an important part of the clinical picture. The optional zonulin add-on measures intestinal permeability directly, while the H. pylori antigen add-on screens for a common cause of gastritis, gastric ulcers, and GERD.

Q. When should I use?
The GI360 Complete with zonulin and H. Pylori can help to differentiate inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) from that noted in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The test can be used to identify underlying factors in digestive symptoms. The dysbiosis index, based on PCR assessment of commensal bacteria, was devised using the ROME criteria for IBS and bacteria associated with IBD. This profile is indicated for gastrointestinal symptoms, autoimmune disease, gastritis, gastric ulcers, GERD, joint pain, IBD, IBS, inflammation, increased gut permeability, food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies and skin conditions.
Q. What is the methodology of this test?
- Commensal bacteria and GI Pathogens measured by multiplex PCR.
- Gold standard microscopy of parasites, worms and yeasts.
- Microscopy of red and white blood cells, muscle fibres, vegetable fibres, pollen and Charcot-Leyden Crystals.
- Culturing of commensal and pathogenic bacteria.
- Macroscopic assessment of stool colour, consistency and presence/absence of mucus.
- Elastase and Calprotectin – BÜHLMANN fCAL® & fPELA® turbo assays.
- H Pylori, Lactoferrin, Lysozyme, sIgA, Zonulin – Elisa.
- Carbohydrates – Colorimetric.
- Fat Stain – Sudan IV.
- SCFA – Gas Chromatography.
- Beta Glucuronidase – Quantitative endpoint enzymatic (RUO).
- Occult Blood – Guaiac.
- Stool pH – ISE.

Q. How does the GI360 differ from a standard NHS stool test?
A standard NHS stool test typically screens for a small number of specific pathogens — such as Campylobacter or Clostridioides difficile — and may include a single inflammation marker like calprotectin. It does not assess the broader composition of your gut microbiome, test for parasites and worms using microscopy, or measure functional markers such as faecal elastase and short chain fatty acid production.
The GI360 combines multiplex PCR, bacterial and yeast culture, gold-standard trichrome and concentrate microscopy, and a full stool chemistry panel in one profile. It also generates a dysbiosis index and diversity score, providing a level of detail that a routine stool sample does not cover. For anyone who has had a basic stool test without clear answers, this advanced gut health test offers a significantly more thorough investigation.
Q. Who should consider the GI360 test?
The GI360 is designed for anyone with persistent or unexplained gut symptoms, but it is also relevant for people whose concerns extend beyond digestion:
- Persistent bloating, IBS and ongoing digestive discomfort — the test can help distinguish IBS from IBD and identify whether dysbiosis, a parasitic infection, or low-grade inflammation is driving symptoms
- Food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies and malabsorption — by measuring digestive enzyme output, intestinal inflammation and microbial balance, it can clarify whether poor absorption or a disrupted microbiome is an underlying factor
- Skin conditions, joint pain and autoimmune symptoms — growing evidence links gut microbiome imbalances to eczema, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions beyond the digestive tract
- Chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction — low butyrate-producing bacteria, undiagnosed parasitic infections, or sustained intestinal immune activation can all contribute to persistent tiredness
- Suspected parasites or worm infections — thorough microscopy screening is included as standard, covering protozoa, roundworms, tapeworms and flukes
The test is suitable for any age, including children and infants. There is no minimum age requirement.
Q. How do I collect and return the GI360 home stool test kit?
The kit is posted to you via DHL and contains colour-coded stool collection vials (black, yellow and white tops), specimen bags, an ice pack, a requisition form, a return shipping box and a prepaid return label.
Before collecting, you must discontinue certain substances:
- At least two weeks before the test: antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, probiotic supplements, proton pump inhibitors and bismuth
- At least two days before the test: aspirin, other NSAIDs, digestive enzymes, laxatives (particularly mineral oil, castor oil and glycerin enemas or suppositories), activated charcoal, betaine HCl, antacids and bentonite clay
- Wait at least four weeks after a colonoscopy or barium enema before collecting
Collect three stool samples using the vials provided — ideally on consecutive days (for example Friday, Saturday and Sunday), but all three must be completed within seven days of the first. Store vials in the refrigerator between collections and freeze the white-top vial for a minimum of six hours before shipping. Do not collect during menstruation or active haemorrhoid bleeding.
Pack all samples with the completed requisition form into the return box and arrange DHL collection. Samples must arrive at the labs between Monday and Thursday — the last recommended dispatch day is Wednesday. Results are typically returned within three weeks.
Q. Can I order the GI360 from outside the UK?
Yes. The GI360 stool test kit ships internationally via DHL or FedEx with return labels included. Simply select your country at checkout. However, if you are based in Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates or the USA, you will need to contact the clinic at info@mybodyfabulous.co.uk for a shipping quote before placing your order.
Q. How does the GI360 relate to other gut tests offered by the clinic?
The GI360 Complete is the most comprehensive stool analysis available through Body Fabulous. If your concern is more specific, the clinic also offers focused alternatives: the Candida Stool Test and Oral Swab for targeted yeast investigation, the Parasites Stool Test for a standalone parasitology assessment, and the Calprotectin & Lysozyme Inflammation Stool Test for a quick check on intestinal inflammation markers alone.
For patients with complex or multi-system symptoms, the GI360 is often paired with other functional medicine tests. The Histamine / DAO Full Blood Test can clarify whether histamine intolerance is contributing alongside any dysbiosis identified on the GI360. The Comprehensive Stool Analysis by Doctor's Data is available as a slightly less extensive alternative if the full GI360 panel is more than you need.
